2017 has been a good year to me! It was the year I started Off Madison Avenue, moved into a new home, started a new job, and experienced a lot of firsts with my husband as a married couple! 2017 will be a hard year to beat. I am thankful for all of you who keep coming back and reading this blog of mine! Never would I have imagined that it would have turned into one of my greatest hobbies and accomplishments. I cannot wait to see what 2018 has in store! In addition to 2017 being a great year, there were also a lot of great purchases. I have rounded up 15 of my favorite purchases of 2017, from beauty to clothing to electronics!
Starting with my favorite purchases of 2017- But, now that I think about it, this jacket hands down my favorite purchase of both 2016 and 2017. BlankNYC keeps coming out with different colors of their Suede Moto Jacket, and I will keep buying. They are a great quality, fit, and color and they take any plain outfit to the next level! If you have been wanting a suede jacket, now is the time because the green, black, and burgundy are now 40%!
A little back story on this foundation- My mom actually did my make up for my wedding. Throughout the years of dances and special occasions, I was never happy when I got my make up done. Usually, I would end up wiping it off and having my mom fix it. So for my wedding, I decided to do what I felt comfortable with- and that was my mom doing my makeup! I am so glad I did, because I was so happy with the way it turned out. We actually purchased this for my wedding, in hopes to achieve a better all over coverage!
After my wedding, I stuck to it because I loved it so much. When I want more coverage, I apply more. And when for everyday, I just use a little bit! I love how light it feels, but also the full coverage that is provides. And i love the price. This is one of the cheapest foundations I have ever used, and it is my all time favorite! Make sure to apply with an air brush foundation- I spray a little onto my brush and apply directly to my face!
I am a believer in eyelash extensions. Truly, I never thought those words would come out of my mouth, but now I cant live without them! The time savings and little make up that I now have to wear, greatly out-ways the cost of eyelash extensions. I get my eyelashes done at Lash by Lash in Nicholas Hills by Raylene or Talley. They both are amazing and were just recognized in the NovaLash community as Brand Ambassadors! You can read my full post on eyelash extensions here.
I just got these for Christmas in the black + white color combo, and I can already tell they will be my favorite tennis shoes to date! They are so lightweight and comfy. These run big, so I sized down a whole size in these!
I purchased my first pair of Madewell denim this year, and now I have four pairs because they are that good. I love the cut, the way they feel and fit! They are a little more pricey, but they have a denim trade-in program that allows you to bring a pair of denim (any brand) and receive $20 towards a new pair! If you haven’t tried Madewell denim yet- just trust me!
Logan actually bought this for us for Christmas, but we have had so much fun with it already! It connects to our TV and allows you to watch Netflix simply by saying “Alexa, play Grey’s Anatomy.” Yes, it wouldn’t be hard to turn the TV on ourselves, but it is not as fun! It also keeps our grocery list, orders things directly from Amazon, and sets timers when I am cooking. For under $30, I think this is a must have in 2017!
This was a splurge for Logan and I, and we had been saving for awhile! We finally invested in a full frame camera before our trip to San Fransisco and I am so glad that we did! It has taken our photography to the next level, and been so fun to learn how to shoot and edit together! We are even taking photos for friends, family, and other bloggers now as well.
This year, I finally invested in a really good floor mirror. Mostly because my husband couldn’t see himself in our other one, haha! I got the West Elm metal floor mirror in Brass and I absolutely love it! We have the brass three tiered coffee table from West Elm, and they match perfectly! We placed it in our living room and I love how big it makes the space feel.
It is no secret that I love stars. However, I am not a huge earring person and typically gravitate towards studs. I love these star studs as an alternative to a typical pearl! They are under $30, and I know you will love them as much as I do!
I am not a big make up girl, but I have found so many new favorite make up products this year! The Charlotte Tilbury Highlighter- It is a squeeze tub with an applicator on the end. It adds the perfect dewey glow that I apply to my cheeks, nose, and my forehead!
THE COOLEST face gel. You rub a little bit on, and it literally peels off your dead and dry skin. My husband and I both love it, as we both have dry skin. It is crazy how much it works. Your dead, dry skin literally flakes off into your hands. If you have dry skin, you should definitely try this! I have had one little bottle that has lasted me all year long!
I am sure you have seen these all over my house. I love these gold metal frames! We have them in my bedroom, living room, and built in shelves. They look so similar to the West Elm Gold collage frames, for a fraction of the price! So many of you that have messaged me, purchased these frames, sent me photos, and loved these frames too!
I recently purchased these, and as you can tell from my recent photos they quickly became my favorite! Typically, I only buy heeled booties, and I am not sure why! I love these lower heeled booties and they are perfect from a day at work, to casual errand runs, to a night out. They are even on sale, and come in three colors!
Ask any of my friends, this particular modal nightgown is my obsession. It is the softest fabric you have ever felt, and I put them on the second that I get in for the night. I have long sleeve, short sleeve, and a button down. This Modal fabric will make you wonder why you haven’t been wearing this to sleep your entire life. There are so many cute prints, shapes, and colors and they are always making more! Jump on the modal nightgown train.
FINALLY, a hair tie that will hold my long thick hair in a bun. Yes ladies, this is for all my girls with thick hair! You will love how secure your hair feels and that it does not make any kinks in your hair. I purchase mine locally at Pure Barre Edmond, but you can find similar online!
I had so much fun looking back on this year and sharing my favorite purchases of 2017 with you all! It will be so fun to look back next year and see what my favorite purchases were versus my favorite purchases of 2018! I can’t wait for 2018, and all the new purchases it will bring! Happy New Year!
