WE ARE HAVING A BABY!
This is the most surreal post I have ever written. Logan and I are so incredibly excited to start our family, and I cannot believe that WE ARE HAVING A BABY! This has by far been the hardest secret I have ever kept, but it has also been so sweet to celebrate with all of our close family and friends. Mini Magill will be arriving in May 2019!
All About Baby
How & When We Found Out:?We found out early, at about 3 weeks! We were not able to see a doctor until I was 8 weeks pregnant, which was so hard to wait! But hearing the heartbeat for the first time is something I wish I could relive over and over.
Heart-rate:?At both of our ultrasounds the babies heart rate was 172 & then 179- Old wives tales are pointing to a girl!
Boy or Girl:?We will find out the sex of our baby at our 16 week ultrasound, and we will be doing a gender reveal with our closest family and friends! You better believe I am ready to buy?all the clothes? and I cannot wait to found out if sweet baby is a boy or a girl! Logan and I both have zero preference, and we are just hoping for a healthy, happy baby!
Names:?We have not settled on a name by any means, but we have a few contenders that we love! We will be announcing the name when the baby is born! Not because we think it will be the?greatest name ever and we don?t want anyone to steal it, but Logan and I wanted to make sure that the decision was ultimately between us and to be able to steer clear of unwanted opinions!
The First Trimester
You have an idea your whole life about what pregnancy would be like, how you will feel, and what symptoms you will have- Thankfully, I know that it could have been worse. However, there have been a few days and weeks that have been rough for me! I am excited to start feeling better and to finally have energy back that is promised to come in the second trimester!
Cravings & Aversions:?No?crazy?cravings just yet- bagels, mashed potatoes, and cereal are a few of my favorites! I am however repulsed by some of my favorite foods. If you have been around for long you know that I love coke- and now I cannot even stand the thought of it! Maybe pregnancy is just what I needed to finally kick the habit!
Morning Sickness:?Around week 5-8, I was experiencing terrible morning (more like all day) sickness. I told Logan if this is what it was going to be like during every pregnancy, this would be our last?ha! Thankfully, one night, I forgot to take my prenatal- the next morning I was completely normal! We found out that I my prenatal were not sitting well. I switched brands from capsules to gummies, and I am feeling a lot better than I was!
Energy:?Pregnancy is tiring. I feel like I haven?t slept in days, and even the simplest of tasks seems impossible! That could also just be a result of buying a house, finding out we were expecting, moving, work and traveling. Everyone says that the second trimester comes with a lot of energy- and I cannot wait for that!
Hunger:?Why did no one tell me that during pregnancy you will never have the feeling of ?full? again??? I feel like a bottomless pit, and nothing suffices. I have heard that there is relief from this in the second trimester, and I am praying hard that this is true. Have you ever tried falling asleep with a growling tummy even after you ate a huge snack? The worst! Honestly, this has been the most frustrating pregnancy symptom so far. Some days I am just so tired of chewing- never thought I would ever say that!!
All the funny and frustrating symptoms aside, I am feeling so incredibly blessed to be a mom to this sweet baby! We are so excited for the next 6 months, and to watch and feel this baby grow!?I am so excited and thankful for this blog to be able to look back on times like these and have them documented! We cannot wait to share this journey with you.
These pictures are so sweet! I can not wait to follow along with your journey Madison! You guys will be the perfect parents and you are already the cutest mama to be! Congratulations again!
